ARTS FESTIVAL = IRMITAS

When I see this sign, I start to get that feeling deep inside... you know the one, like you're just about to win the lottery or head downstairs to open Christmas Presents from Santa!

Just now I'm trying to decide which means more in my life: The annual St. George Arts Festival or the delectable Irmitas booth at the annual St. George Arts Festival!

Now I have blogged about both these loves before. As you recall, among my list of top ten FAVE SGU events ever, the Arts Festival ranks high on the list as #2 (Trumped only by the omnipotent parade of homes).... and Irmitas, as you well remember, can only be found booth style here and one other local: the Dickens Festival (which BTW is #3 on my events list).

The reason why you have to get the famous Irmitas Muleta when they set up a booth is because at their gas station restaurant (you heard me) they don't actually grill the cabbage and cheese in with the peppers and meat... or something like that. Suffice it to say, it's not as good a Muleta unless it is served "out in the field." Oh how I cannot describe my LOVE for this menu item! Oh the agony of the wait to Dickens!!! Perhaps I'll get lucky and they'll set up shop at the main street block parties or Tuacahn markets this summer. Quick, someone please volunteer to go the the fair in August and call me if they are there (because there is NO way I'm going back to the fair for any less worthy of a cause). I don't care what kind of line you see- when the Irmitas booth is set up, go running!!!

It's kind of becoming tradition to go the Arts Festival with a Burr!

OUR AMAZING BUYS:

I'm trying to decide when to break the news to Q that I want our kitchen to be decked out accented in the color of this platter. I just finished telling him the walls of our dream house will be white and he freaked. Am I the only one who just assumed the wife is the one who calls all the shots on the dream house decor?????? Do you think I should tell him that I've been planning the floor plan, design, and decor of my dream home since I could eat mashed bananas???? Serious! While other girls were dreaming of weddings and Romeos, I was thinking about Architectural Digest and color tones. I can even tell you what the knobs of our laundry room cupboards will look like. For now, I'm trying to drop Q little hints here and there. Maybe the drink out of a fire hose approach would be better.

Above: For the houseboat. So totally cooler up close and personal.

BELOW: IF I HAD ALL THE MONEY I EVER DREAMED OF...

{{{Coincidentally this photograph and rug are also on the list for the dream house!}}}

p.s.
Demands Grandma to the platter guy, "Why does this cost so much!!!" Oh grandma. Oh grandma.
