Out with the sick, in with the new.

My baby was so completely sick. It was wretched. But it is done, thankfully, and since she's recovered, she is an entirely NEW little girl! She's totally different and changed. It was like the entire time she was sick and could barely move or breathe, she was thinking of all the fun things she wanted to do when she got better. I was looking at these pre-sick photos today and could not believe how little she was! ...and it's only a two week difference. Crazy cool! ...and crazy sad. I do like the thrill of her progress but I HATE saying goodbye to her babydom. All the while the only thing that can console me is the thought (the IMMEDIATE thought) of having another one as soon as possible.

We pulled this 30-year-old pink dress out of our cedar chest in Pine Valley only none of us can remember me wearing it so we are wondering if Grandma Polly saved it from someone else's D.I. pile. Oh how I hope it's mine though, it's fantastic! Anyone recognize it?

AND... the most wonderful sight in the entire world:
Those little feet poking out melt my heart!

Honestly Brad, WHY would you take her to the race track!?!?! OH STEVE!

The only thing I can figure is the producers need ratings so they're using Brad to exploit Emily's heart breaking story of her fiance Ricky dying in a plane crash on the way to a race a week before Emily discovered she was pregnant with his baby! I mean, why else would Brad take her up in a plane on their first date and to the race track on their second? He seems like a nice guy.

Yep. I'm shamelessly {and for reasons I cannot validate let alone understand} watching The Bachelor this winter.

...And I hopelessly and painfully SOBBED and SOBBED my eyes out watching Terri, Bindi, and Bob on Oprah's Australia bit. It was only 5 minutes of footage but it took me back, WAY BACK, to that moment I found out Steve was gone. I can almost not bare a world without Steve. I know it's crazy, but I feel like I lost a close member of my family that day. I know Steve and I were best mates in the pre-existence. I feel a strong connection with Steve and his family. I just love them, and I love Steve... and now I'm sobbing again. Still, after all this time- I sob for Steve.

Oh, and it's Annie's 6 month.
She's a dream. A real dream in living color.

His disgusting; My filfthy- Shave & a haircut, two bits

Annie's first basketball game (aka the culprit of 10 days of dreadful sickness and no sleep)-
We took her to Dixie College and were quite disappointed with the student crowd. There were 3 rows of student body tops! Even at SUU we filled two entire sections. Lame. Annie loved it though. She absolutely LOVES a good crowd and some noise. Little did she know...

Q and I have comPLETEly different versions of cleanliness. For example: Q calls Annie's bath water "disgusting" and crunchy fall leaves "filthy" -um... my version of disgusting is raw sewage and my filthy is an R rated movie. Clearly one of us is missing the boat.
The First Hair Cut

Love her duck tail- but Annie has at least 3 MAJOR knots to comb out every day so the first hair cut came MUCH too soon for my liking but out of necessity. Don't know how much it helped. I still cut at least 1 knot out of her hair everyday. And because I know you want to see 50 pictures of the event (which is only half as many as I took):

A day in the life...

My hubby is amazing. He is so willing to jump right in and be a part of Annie's life even if it's the part that involves midnight baths and hospital runs. Already I can see Annie turning on me. I knew it would happen, but this soon? Why can't I be the favorite forever? ...Because her dad is the incredible Q, that's why (...and before Leave it to Beaver shows up- I settled on the word incredible because he put up with a random RANDOM but severe and intense week of moody wife followed by sick Annie and he's still here!).

Annie is doing better. At least, she's starting to eat her toes again. She's still bad sick though. Q put her to bed while I made a NEW BLOG to add to the list of many last night. So I've been blogging a heap lately, just not here. Anyhow- we've narrowed the culprit of Annie's travails to the Dixie College BBall game we took her to last week. No more of that please. It's been a rough and sleepless week. Add to the top of it that last night I had homework from my job until 4 am and Q had night calls until 7 plus we've both been working almost everyday for the last two weeks. We are tired. All three of us. Happy, but tired. Oh, and it's worth mentioning that in the chaos of it all, our house is marginally clean!

Last week while Q was out of town on business Annie and I went to the cabin with Ydnic, Meg, and Grandma Polly. We vegged the entire time, watched Casablanca, Annie took a bath, and every last one of us slept in.

We decided to dig through a chest of our vintage clothes. GPo's memory is amazing. She's got a story for every dress. Plus, I found some more AMAZING dresses for Annie. You are going to flip over them. Pics coming soon.
