So it was a terribly rough delivery. We're home now- but recovery is bleak and dismal. None-the-less, we are enjoying our new baby immensely! Annie is enamored with Violet (whom she calls EYE-LET) and insists on helping with the baby at every stage. Ydnic says she's a bit like a bull in a china shop but we are super glad she has welcomed the new baby with enthusiasm. Here are a few photos from the hospital:
We arrived before 9:30am but didn't get Violet until11:10 pm. I am still over the moon about having another girl! It took so long to stitch me up that Annie and my family didn't get to meet Violet until 1:30 am. They were going crazy! They could hear her crying but we didn't let them come in until I was able to watch their reaction at meeting (surprise) a perfect little girl!
It took us a few days to name Violet, and we hadn't even had the name Violet waiting in the wings! She didn't look like Annie at all to us. She had a little round face, less hair, and her personality is quite timid and tender compared to Annie.
As usual, Annie demands to be front and center. She knew I have owies though and was super cuddly and soft.
Annie has to have everything Violet does because it's cool: like binks and purple bows.

Oh I love Eye-let. How cute! I hope you recover soon. That's the worst. Wish I could see her! Have fun cuddling a new baby! Oh and the smell!!
