May is always crazy but the last 2 weeks have been insane. Add to that the fact that I have been super super sick (flu) and am steadily gaining ("Have they measured you?" says mom, "I don't mean the baby, I mean you. You know, around your belly with a tape measure? Maybe you are having twins and they don't know it"). Here is some Hawaii catch up time so I can get to the more current happenings.

{above} Here is Sheila getting her first breadth of Hawaiian air at the airport.

{above} The four of us went to stake conference in Lihue (after driving to Kalaheo to discover all the other Mormon tourists trying to program the Korean War Veterans Memorial building in their GPS's. -there was note on the chapel door).
{above} After a nightmarish ordeal and an all night layover (unplanned) in LA, Q finally made it to Kauai. I told Sheila that no matter the horrendousness of his canceled flights, to just wait and watch, he'd be uncharacteristically smiling the minute he stepped onto Hawaiian soil. True to word, Q fulfilled my prophecy. Hawaii is the one place it is simply impossible for him to be in a bad mood no matter what happens. We think he's got Polynesian in him or something.
{below} We rent a condo somewhere on Poipu every year and here are some sweet shots near our Mackahuena condo. We got a super SUH-WEET deal!!!! Ocean view to boot!
{below} This is the look out point at our condo. I sat here and read/whale watched all afternoon while I waited for everyone else to go on the Napali navy seal raft tour.
{below} Mom, QM, and I drove up Waimea Canyon to show Sheila the Little Grand Canyon. Amazingly (and I do mean MIRACULOUS HERE) just when we got to the top look out point, the clouds parted briefly for us and we could see down the valley to the cliff line and shore. It was spiritual.
{below} We took a day to wind our way around the other side of the island to the end of the road at the very last beach before the Napali cliffs swallow up the road. On the way we hit a farmers market where we bought some crazy-weird avacados and the light house. GORGEOUS.
{below} If you've been to the Shrimp Station before, you know why we stopped there SEVERAL times during our Kauai vacation. The coconut shrimp and dipping sauce are TO DIE FOR. What I wouldn't give for a plate right now. Mom even bought a T-Shirt this time.
