In 2002, only 7 percent of all U.S. households consisted of married couples with children in which only the husband worked. Dual-income families with children made up more than two times as many households. Even families with two incomes and no children outnumbered the traditional family by almost two to one.
And that was a decade ago. I suppose one has to be resolved to live off one income. It takes a kind of determination and stalwart fastening of the purse strings the likes of which my generation is not acclimated. So I said to the math teacher encouraging me to quit last week, "It really comes down to grass," when she asked me if my daughter would rather have me home. Honestly, I think right now she'd rather have grass. So I work some more and buy an acre of grass. That's the plan. Only, I sure wish I could buy that acre of grass without working.
The latest:
The Johnson's stopped by for dinner. Annie is in love with Todd, as am I.
Thanks to some generous neighbors who had left over sod, we do have one patch of grass in the back. With our gorgeous sunny days, it has been a life saver. Annie cries to go "out out out" almost every moment she is awake.
These 2 cuties were big fans of lunch.
We got to babysit Lailee last week and Annie was pretty happy about the arrangement.
The extent of our V-Day decor: These window decals.
Anyone else's kid a crazy sleeper? She takes after both of us in unfortunate terms when it comes to sleep: She has inherited Q's lack of need to sleep and my conditions-have-to-be-absolutely perfect-ness. Great. Or not so great if you want to sleep around our place.

Hooray for warm weather and some grass to enjoy it! Those pictures are SO stinking cute! Can I please have a copy! And thanks again for watching Lailee - how would I do this without you guys??
There are immense sacrifices in either situation I guess. Darn. It stinks!
Is that a boon high chair?! Best high chair on earth.
I need some bibs like that.
Annie is so darn cute- i love the sleep pictures-my girls also sleep like that. I just went in and had to gently push abbi's legs back through the crib slots.
Yay for grass!! I dream of a yard for a, o and e..
