No rest for the weary. We´ve really stretched the most out of our time here and this final week has been no exception. Tuesday after six hours of class we barely made it to the Alhambra (thanks to Jordan´s mad dash). The Alhambra is an entire muslim palace city and we had been trying to get tickets since day one but finally ended up booking ourselves the free University of Granada tour. It is on the list of the new seven wonders of the world. There is a world vote being held with only 8 days left. The cool things is, of the 20 candidates, I´ve been to four! It was really amazing, the details are extravagant. Every inch of the walls and cielings were hand carved with Arabic designs and then painted bright colors. When the Christains conquered Granada, they took over the Alhambra and bleached all of the color out of the walls. It is said that when the king was fleeing Spain to Morocco he looked back at the Alhambra and began to cry so his mother told him, "Cry as a woman for that which you could not keep as a man."
