My latest baby product obsessions:

So last night we FINALLY- and I do mean FINALLY after a 5+ month remodel/renovation, spent the night at the annex (our new apartment). It was a nightmare remodel, a hideous 3 different sets of stairs move, and a stressful "hurry before the baby comes" pandemonium/death march... but we are in.

As everything comes together... and arrives in the mail (I only baby shop online because I find it very embarrassing to shop for baby stuff in the store... plus you can only get the best stuff online), I thought I'd show you a few of my latest indulgences.

This is the full swivel rocker/recliner I designed online from Little Castle. It is 100% pure luxury and worth every extravagant penny even if I wasn't counting the hidden recline mechanism. I cannot wait tell I can afford a matching ottoman in 25 years. Seriously though, after the UppaBaby Vista 2010, this is my favorite baby-related purchase. The quality is amazing! The fabric is a dream, and the thing is gorgeous!!! I sit in it for 20 minute increments and think about life.

You may know that I am addicted to babysteals.com and zulily.com- This fabulous Combi Pod bouncer with Ipod hookup was up for a steal last week and I got one before they sold out! The best part is that I got it for way cheaper than all the sales prices online even though I had to pay shipping (which is probably the first time I've had to pay shipping on anything I've bought online). If you haven't subscribed to zulily, you are either missing out or being smart by protecting your $$$ from impulsive kid purchases.

This car seat of choice was the most difficult decision for me. It came down to the Chicco KeyFit, the Gracco Snug Ride, or a Prego. Since I definitely can NOT afford the Italian Prego and all the reviews about Gracco mentioned intense sweating- I finally chose the Chicco in this brand new color. Actually, I ordered it before the color was even available. Thankfully it just arrived in the mail days before our kid comes so we will be able to bring little HQ home from the hospital.

I hate Hate HATE all the cutsie play yards I've seen except the Bjorn and Phil and Ted's simple designs but there was no way I was going to spend over $200 on a clean looking pack 'n play so I thrilled when I discovered this Joovy. The best part is that this thing is HUGE! It offers 10 square feet of playing space and is actually called a "room" not a play pin. One reviewer even said it was big enough for her 14-month-old and twins! Go figure- I love it even more than my first 2 choices.

Hadley Family Reunion 2010

It was the Ogden year for the fam-damly-reunion so we drove up north to Pine View Reservoir. I was in a terrific mood because I had spent the previous two days on vacation in SLC by myself. This included eating wherever I wanted and shopping for an entire day by myself at Ikea. I love love love alone time. Too bad it's coming to a halting end... Sylvia Plath, Sylvia Plath, Sylvia Plath: I'm so on her dreaded train right now. Anyhow, back to the reunion: Meree and I are in charge next year so we tried to talk everyone into going to Disneyland. Looks like I'll be heading to Disneyland by myself because they voted on a return to Pine Valley {anyone noticing a theme here?). I tried to tell them that some places are simply worth the yeast infection you bring home but alas- the Hadley's are the type of people who clean before they clean so flying over Never Land will wait. We had loads and heaps of fun together but my favorite part BY FAR was Anita's pesto turkey oven broiled sandwich. I just want to get that down in writing so I don't forget about it. That girl knows how to lay down a sandwich!

94% fat free popcorn gets a makeover

94% fat free microwave popcorn. What's the point right? Usually I just go for a different snack if that is the only kind of popcorn we have in the pantry- but a couple nights ago I discovered, to my pleasant surprise, that if you add half a cup of butter, a load of salt, and heaps of white cheddar seasoning, it really isn't that bad.

...And a sneak peak at why Q and I have been missing in action

This is a before shot. When I look at it I want to cry.
We have been at the renovation since February and are finally [almost] ready
to have the carpets cleaned tomorrow so we can start moving in.
They know us at home depot.
We go every night:
The guy with all the cuts in his hands and his pregnant wife waddling behind him.
At least Q still has all his fingers and we are still speaking to one another.
No matter what the place looks like in the end,
I consider it a win for those two reasons.
